I created this site because I was proud to have this movie made in my town and out of my love for film making. I hope that this site provides the fans of this film and the Michigan residents a good place to be a part of this experience.

Josh Hutcherson: 'Red Dawn' Keeps 'American, Patriotic Feel' Of Original

MTV Movie blog has a Josh Hutcherson interview up from his promotion of "The Kids Are All Right" at Sundance. They ask him about 'Red Dawn'. He says, "We've changed quite a bit of the story, but the heart of the story is there. The American, patriotic feel of the original, rising up against the invaders, is still definitely there. The Chinese are invading now, so we're switching that up just to stay with the times a little bit."

You'll have to head over there to check out the video.

Contest update!

Well I was planing on having a contest this month but I got a phone call this week that's making me change my plans. The contest is getting delayed but it will be a lot better then before. I can't say anything more yet because nothing has been confirmed but this should make everyone want in on this. I will most likely use the posters I have as a runner up prize or for a smaller contest later once I know more. Stay tuned for more details.

'Red Dawn' makes io9.com's top 20 SF movies of 2010 list

io9.com put together a list of their top 20 SF films their most excited for in 2010. 'Red Dawn' made their list. This is what they had to say:

"Why we're pumped: It's a weird mixture of apocalyptic and alternate history, but this film's early photos showing the American town plastered with scary signs in Chinese and Russian got us all pumped."

I never really thought of 'Red Dawn' as a Sci-Fi flix but I guess they do. Others to make their list: Tron, Iron Man 2, and Kick Ass amongst others. Click here to check out the rest of the list.

Fan-made Trailer

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone missed it. This was made a couple years ago and seems to be getting attention now that the remake is coming. This will have to do till we see a real trailer.

Thank You...Detroit!

Director's assistant Jennifer Eddy wrote a letter to The Detroit News to thank Detroit for a wonderful filming experience:

"I was less than thrilled when I heard we would be shooting "Red Dawn" in Detroit as result of Michigan's film incentive program, and I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of all the bad press that I have read and heard about, I found a fantastic, if somewhat challenged, city that is full of generous and kind people who have a great work ethic and an ingenuity to make more out of less."

Red Dawn Extras Party

I had a chance to go to the Red Dawn extras party Friday night at the Hard Rock in Detroit. I met a bunch of great people there. I don't know if extras from other films do this, but it seems like there was a lot of friendships made over the course of filming. (I know they had a lot of long days together.) Everyone seemed really proud to be part of this production and are very excited to see the final film. I was also able to dispel some bad rumors about this site and some things that where said on set about it. I'm really glad they like the site so much.

Congratulations everyone on a job well done. Can't wait to see you up on the big screen.

I'll update this post when I get some pictures together from the party.
